Our Motto:

ARISE & BUILD

OUR MISSION & OBJECTIVES

The slogan of the fellowship shall is “Arise, Let Us Build”

OBJECTIVES

  • Promote cohesiveness amongst members through weekly prayer and Bible study meetings while facilitating the spiritual growth of each individual member
  • Spread the gospel through community outreach, and evangelism
  • Develop dynamic and competent leaders to fill leadership roles in the church
  • Bridge the gap between the younger and older members of the church through nurturing and counseling of the young and providing assistance to the elderly as needed.
  • Fulfill our social responsibilities by providing spiritual, and material support to individual members while expanding YA’s philosophy of social cohesiveness to other fellowships internal and external to GWUMC

Accomplishments

In the February 2019 Progress report, the organization reported a membership of 29 young women and men. In August 2019 our numbers increased by 26%: bringing our current membership level to 39.

In concurrence with our objective of providing material support to our members, church, surrounding community and country of origin, the organization has collected over 200 lbs. of clothing to distribute and ship to those in dire need both locally and international.

In leading, mentoring and counseling, the organization facilitates the Time with The Children segment every Sunday by engaging the Sunday school in a brief scripture reading and discussion in front of the congregation. In addition, 15% of the group serves on the Board of Trustees, Nomination Committee, Education Committee, and other administrative boards in the church. On October 12, facilitators of the group organized an outing to welcome the new members to the group, and as a show of cohesiveness and camaraderie in the service of God.
