The Singing Band Page

Who We Are

Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth! Sing out the honor of His name; Make His praise glorious.”  The Singing Band has been in existence for twenty years and we continue to serve God and the church by singing praises to His name through energizing songs during offertory time. Currently, the  membership stands at 18 with 12 active members. Meeting day is on Tuesdays from 8 pm to 9.30 pm at the church  premises or at a member’s home.

Our Motto:

Tow Ayeyi! Ayeyi nka Ewuradze! Sing Praises! Praises to God!

Activities

Weekly rehearsals to learn new songs, revise old songs and select songs for Sunday service. Weekly bible study and prayers after rehearsals. Ongoing visitation to members and their families who are bereaved, sick and those recovering from illness. Support for members and their families on special occasions – retirement,  birthdays, weddings and other occasions. Participation and support of church activities spiritually, physically and financially.

Achievements

We give glory and honor to God that we were able to celebrate our 11thanniversary this September starting with activities during the week – leading on the prayer line, distributing flyers to the community as part of evangelism and ending with the celebration on Sunday, which was a success.

Challenges

The main challenge facing the group is getting new members to join however, despite this, the group has been able to stand on its feet for twenty years.  To God be the glory! Goals for the coming year –

  • Election of new officers
  • Participate in Bible studies and prayer meetings for spiritual growth of the group
  • Organize activities to increase awareness of the group and attract new members.
  • Continue to foster the spirit of fellowship, brotherly love, support and goodwill among the group, church members and sister churches.

Acknowledgements

Sincere thanks and appreciation go to our sister Kate Blankson for making her home available for rehearsals and to our bandmaster Walter Twumasi for all the work he continues to do for the group.  Appreciation also goes to our pastor, lay leaders, council members and the entire congregation for their support. Tow Ayeyi! Ayeyi nka Ewuradze! Sing Praises!  Praises to God!
